Emphasis of Hydrogeology is placed on key concepts of groundwater science and technology. The lectures take students through various stages of groundwater resources development and utilization. Core aspects of hydrogeology introduced through the course include recharge, discharge, aquifer storage fluctuation and vulnerability. Important techniques students should understand range from recharge estimation methods, pumping tests, numerical simulation to assessment of water quality parameters.

The course deals with the hydrological and some fluvial geomorphologic processes operating in catchments. The latter focuses mainly on soil erosion as a problem and how to handle it
